Renee has been helping people learn to play the harp for over 20 years. She has Suzuki training, and the majority of her private harp studio students use those materials and methods. In Fall of 2011, she began offering group lessons for hobbyists using the Harpsicle harps built in Rising Sun, Indiana.   Renee has lived in the Morgan Park Neighborhood of Chicago for the past 16 years with her husband Pete Jirousek, who is a professional French hornist. They have two children, Hank and Lila, who are also musicians.

Renee holds a Master of Music Performance degree, and plays harp professionally in and around the Chicago area.  Renee is a member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians and plays on a Lyon and Healy Concert Grand harp, a Dusty Strings Ravenna, and a Rees harps Sharpsicle.
